Marguerite's Hot Pepper Sauce is a packaging concept for a hot sauce brand done during a package design course at the University of Minnesota. It is a gift set that consists of three bottles of hot sauce in a laser cut and engraved wood box. This project allowed me to work with pattern which is something I don't always use in design, so it was interesting working with text and illustration layered over a pattern.
One of my objectives was to show the heat level of each sauce through color and illustration, as well as supportive icons on the side of the bottle. I chose Jalapeno, Habanero, and Ghost Pepper as they were distinct colors to work with. The illustrations for the package design were inspired by Dia de los Muertos, I wanted them to be somewhat comical, going along with the fun aesthetic of the brand.
