Meltzer/Mandl Architects Website

I had the opportunity to redesign Meltzer/Mandl Architect P.C.'s website as a student at the University of Minnesota (UMN) through a reference from my web design professor and dean. The principal of the firm had graduated from the UMN College of Design in the sixties and wanted to have a current student design their new site. The firm's website was originally a Wix landing page with a carousel of images that linked to an external site for information on individual projects. I created rounds of wireframes, mockups, and variations of the site, having Zoom meetings with the principals of the firm in New York to review the designs.

Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I built their website with pages for each of their projects, news posts, and a firm profile. Responsivity and accessibility were two priorities in the new site that were not present within the original site. This website is built with fixed, parallax sections that are overlapped with opaque sections using z-indexing to provide a unique scrolling style – take a look at the video below!

I continue to work with Meltzer/Mandl Architects, P.C. designing marketing materials, such pitch decks and one sheets their new projects, as well as initiating a social media presence through creating posts for their Instagram and scheduling them via Later platform.

Type study to determine heading and body typeface used on site. We ended up going with the first option, Le Monde and Avenir.
